Jr. Designer / Design Assistant

 

SOUL TWIN STUDIO is in search of a Junior Designer / Design Assistant to join our team full-time. The Jr. Designer role will take on many of our retainer clientele, working within pre-established Brand Identities to create ongoing graphics & campaigns across various touchpoints.


This role will assist our Art Directors in their projects from onset to completion in a variety of ways (see Responsibilities section below). Alongside these daily responsibilities, this person will have the opportunity to learn and grow hands-on in their design experience across a diverse roster of clientele & identity systems.

BA in Graphic Design or 2 Yrs Formal Training / Experience

 
 

Responsibilities


• This role will support and work alongside our Sr & Lead Designers in a hands-on studio environment.

• This role will be primarily focused on Soul Twin’s retainer clientele — working within established Brand Guidelines & Standards to create ongoing graphics & campaigns.

• This role will be involved with a variety of Project / Design Assistance: Production Assistance, file organization, creation of final Brand Guides, various design revisions, compiling design proofs, brand research, etc.

• This role will provide experience in graphic design in multiple expressions ie. working within Brand Identities (logo & typography systems), Layout & Composition, Print Collateral & Packaging Design, and Digital Design (Social Media Graphics & Campaigns, Web Design, etc.).


Required Qualifications / Experience

• Have completed a BA in Graphic Design or have 2 yrs other formal design training (with a resume & previous work examples / case studies to show).

• Ability to work & ideate creatively & strategically within established Brand Identities (Typography Systems, Guidelines and Standards).

• Experienced and savvy with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. (Required)

• Confident understanding of graphic design and a strong sense of typography & composition. 

• A willingness to learn our Internal Systems & Platforms for task management, design & proofing, and file organization.



Ideal Qualifications / *Desired, Not Required


• Local to Charlotte, NC

• The ideal candidate is a conceptual designer: able to convey ideas, emotions, and concepts through graphic design.

• Experienced with Digital Platforms such as: Figma, Squarespace, Wordpress, or Webflow.
